My hope is perhaps this helps some other people out there – to have conversations, to help each other, and to ask for help.
My brother was a professional firefighter for almost 20 years and he ended his life in 2017. I've written much about his death as a way to process my own grief – and some of that was channeled into this article, which touches on youth sports, Cobra Kai (or all things), alcohol use, and my experience knowing my brother as he responded to so many tragic events over the years as a firefighter.
I originally wrote this on my personal blog and it was picked up by a local news site, which is what I'm linking to here: https://rtforty.com/high-school-legacies-the-resonance-of-cobra-kai/
Thank you for your time and attention.
